CORRELATION BETWEEN NITROGEN AND CHLOROPHYLL CONTENT IN WHEAT (Triticum aestivum L.)

چکیده

Physiological investigations of nitrogen content and relation between nitrogen and chlorophyll content at some wheat cultivars were carried out at the outset of the flowering phase. Dependence of nitrogen content from mineral elements in the soil was established at the same time. Investigations were guided on unfertilized soil and four fertilization variants (N, NPK, NP and NK). The results indicated that nitrogen content influenced from presence and ratio mineral elements in the soil. The most favorable variant of fertilization was NPK and the most unfavorable – unfertilized soil. According to cultivars, KG 100 had the highest nitrogen content and Matica the lowest. Nitrogen content was close link with chlorophyll content. Correlation does not exist only at triticale cultivar Knjaz.

Distinctive Responses of Ribulose-1,5-Bisphosphate Carboxylase and Carbonic Anhydrase in Wheat Leaves to Nitrogen Nutrition and their Possible Relationships to CO(2)-Transfer Resistance.

The amounts of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco), total chlorophyll (Chl), and total leaf nitrogen were measured in fully expanded, young leaves of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), rice (Oryza sativa L.), spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.), bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), and pea (Pisum sativum L.). In addition, the activities of whole-chain electron transport and carbonic anhydr...

Effect of Hapten, N-acetyl-d-glucosamine, on the Biological Activity of Wheat Lectin

Modulation of the effect of wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) with hapten, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GlcNAc), in case of pre-sowing treatment of spring wheat (Triticum aestivum cv Rannyaya 93) seeds, on the biological components of the system ’’plant – soil – microorganisms” was studied. The application of WGA (100 nM) stimulated root formation, biomass production, total chlorophyll content and wheat g...

Induction of drought tolerance with seed priming in wheat cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.)

Delay in sowing and low precipitation (<300mm annual) in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) farming is the major problem in the irrigated and rainfall lands of Iran. A factorial experiment for evaluating the effects of seed priming on wheat cultivars was carried out under laboratory, greenhouse and at two field conditions during seasons of 2008-2010. Arrangement of treatments were Zarrin, Shariar, Sa...

Gas exchange acclimation to elevated CO2 in upper-sunlit and lower-shaded canopy leaves in relation to nitrogen acquisition and partitioning in wheat grown in field chambers

Growth at elevated CO2 often decreases photosynthetic capacity (acclimation) and leaf N concentrations. Lower-shaded canopy leaves may undergo both CO2 and shade acclimation. The relationship of acclimatory responses of flag and lower-shaded canopy leaves of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to the N content, and possible factors affecting N gain and distribution within the plant were investigated i...

Nitrogen and Water Stress Impacts Hard Red Spring Wheat (Triticum aestivum) Canopy Reflectance

Remote sensing has been proposed as a method for implementing an inseason spring wheat (Triticum aestivum) nitrogen (N) fertilization program. However, in fields where yields are influenced by both water and N stress, accurate N recommendations require that that the N and water stress signals be separated from each other. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of water and N st...
